Behind every Solid Combo marker there is a Barcelona workshop, years of testing and one obsession: creating the best solid paint for painting in the street. In this article we tell you who we are, how the project started and what makes our SOLIDOS and COMBOS different.
Who we are: a solid paint lab in Barcelona
Solid Combo Labs is an independent Barcelona brand that designs and makes solid paint markers. We were born in graffiti culture and that is still our starting point: tools made by people who paint, for people who paint. Today we are the first European solid paint marker brand, with our own formula and our own production.
Our story, from 2018 to today
2018 · The beginning
In a small Barcelona workshop we started hand-cutting wax from Japanese markers, testing colours and materials to create something different.
2020 · Our own formula
While graffiti still relied on imported products, we began developing our own solid paint formula from scratch. It was a long process, full of tests, failures and love for the craft.
2021 · Solid Combo Labs is born
The project became a real lab. The research, testing and breakthroughs of those years laid the foundations of the brand.
2023 · SOLIDOS arrives
After three years of formulation we launched SOLIDOS, our solid paint marker: extremely permanent, highly pigmented and handmade one by one in Barcelona.
2024 · Europe and the US
Graffiti shops and distributors across Europe and the US started selling SOLIDOS, proving that a locally made, independent project could compete with the big brands.
2025 · New workshop and COMBOS
We moved into a new space with specialised machinery to produce more without losing the handmade touch. That same year, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, we launched COMBOS, the world's first multicolour solid paint marker.
What is solid paint?
A solid paint marker is a stick of solidified paint applied like a crayon. Unlike a liquid paint marker, you don't need to shake it and it doesn't drip. It leaves an opaque, permanent stroke that stands up to the weather.
What is a solid paint marker used for?
Our paint writes on wood, metal, glass, concrete, stone, plastic or rubber, even underwater, and works from -10 °C to 200 °C. That's why it's useful for much more than graffiti:
